Roses and leaves

Here are some pictures I took in my backyard on Friday. I love photographing flowers. :)

Sunday boredom...

Ugh. Well I am exhausted. Yesterday I went to Six Flags Magic Mountain's fright fest with my friends Corrin and Olivia. :) It was a lot of fun, and I was there from opening to closing. It's nice only living a few minutes away from there. It was VERY crowded there though, but what do you expect on a Saturday?
I wasn't able to bring an actual camera, sadly, mine is still being fixed and I didn't want to risk taking my moms and dropping it on log jammer or something. So, my only pictures were taken on my cell phone, which, like many other cell phones, takes really bad pictures.
I was to lazy to upload them all today, so for now I am only posting one. It was taken from the sky tower looking down on Tatsu. You can see the sky tower's shadow in the picture too. :)

Really funny quotes. :)

Here are some really funny quotes that I have heard around. I was just thinking about them and decided to post 'em. :) Enjoy! :) :) :)
"Denial 'aint just a river in Egypt"~ Mark Twain
" All those who believe in psychokinesis raise my hand"~unknown
"You have the right to remain silent. anything you say will be misquoted and used against you"~unknown
"Last night as I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky I thought to myself; Where the heck is the ceiling??"~unknown
" I've often wanted to drown my troubles, but I can't get my wife to go swimming."~Jimmy Carter
" My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was sixty. She's ninety-seven now, and we don't know where the hell she is."~ Ellen DeGeneres
I get to go overseas places, like Canada.~Britney Spears
Half this game is ninety percent mental.~Danny Ozark
I think that gay marriage is something that should be between a man and a woman.~Arnold Schwartzanegger

Okay, well that's all I can think of for now. TOODLES! :)

Four Drawings!! Whoo!

Hello Everyone! I took home my art portfolio from school today, so I was able to take pictures of some of my favorite drawings I have done at school! YAY! :) I'll post my self portrait on here within a few days, so keep checking back!

This first drawing is, yes, obviously a chair. :)
But I did not draw the chair itself, but the space around it. The chair you see is just the result of drawing negative space. :) I just erased around it so it pops out.

The second one is a drawing of my hand. It was kind of hard doing all of the detail, but it was really fun to do! :)

the next drawing on the left is my friend Sammy. I really like how this turned out. Her eyes are so pretty and it was really hard to get that in! I was erasing like crazy! It was worth it though, because it looks almost exactly like her! :) :)

And last, but not least is a drawing of some houses by the art room at my school. We did this drawing to practice drawing angles and sighting, a technique used by some artists. Getting the shading right was tricky, but in the end I think I got it OK. :D

School project thing...

Painting I whipped up really quick for a science art project thing for school. I might redo it sometime, make it look a lot nicer... I hate really almost everything about it, but it is the only thing I have really done today. A few doodles, and a bookmark designing competition entry are the only other art things I have done today. Took me almost all day to do them though. There goes my Saturday. oh well.

... the lightning doesn't even look like lightning...

Fun with Photoshop :)

Sorry I haven't updated for a few days. I'm just too busy with school and homework to draw or paint every day. -_- I think the only reason I actually get up to go to school is because of art class. It makes my day all better. :) Today I decided to have some fun with Photoshop. Here are a few pictures I messed with:

Pumpkin Carving Designs

Okey Dokey, here are a few ideas that I had for pumpkin carving. Please comment on which one you like the best. They are all numbered so you don't have to describe the one you like the best when commenting. :) I think I like number five the best, but I'm not sure. here they are:

My hand-made duct tape bags. :)

I love making stuff out of duct tape, especially bags that I can use as backpack things at school. :) I love duct tape... :) :) :) here are pictures of two duct tape bags that I have made:

this last picture is obviously the same one as the above picture, I just messed with it on Photoshop. :) I love Photoshop. :)

Nature photos

Alrighty, well today I went walking around my neighborhood and the park near my house. I have permission to use my mom's camera now, now I took that with me so I could take pictures of the beautiful world around us, something I havn't done since my camera broke. Now either me or my mom have those fancy pants Canon brand cameras with the awesome quality, so don't criticize me on that too much please. :) Once I get my camera back from Radioshack, I will put pictures that I took in Maui on my blog. :)

Here's what I took with a Nikon Coolpix:

Those are my three favorite berry pictures.

Here we have a leaf against the sky:

And now my favorite, the flowers:

Two paintings and a sketch

Okay, first I have a sketch of a cougar. I want to learn more on shading, because I think that is my major weakness in drawing. I think this is ok, though.

Now I will move on to my two paintings that I worked oh so hard on today. :) The first one is one I did as I was talking to one of my brothers. I don't know how the idea for this came from talking about songs we like and dislike, but it did. Some of you readers might think that it looks like it only took me a few seconds, but it took nearly an hour to prefect. I thought that it turned out looking pretty cool. ;)All right, the last one that I did today, I think turned out very cool. I love the big mushroom in the final painting and all of the colors in it. I did this with water colors, wet on wet. I love using wet on wet, some of the color blends you get from it are very cool. :)
Here is the thumbnail drawing:

and here is the final painting:

Optical Illusions

Okay, I havn't really drawn at all today. I started on one earlier, but I didn't have much time to work on it because about twenty minutes into working on it, I had to leave to go to Lombardi Ranch. Man, I love that place. :) I picked put a nice, six dollar pumpkin, and then went to talk to the cows for a while before taking a walk on scarecrow alley. They have a calf now! I love cows. They have the funniest personalities.
I must say that this year's scarecrows were not as impressive as previous years. There was an attempt to make a scarecrow look like the Joker from Batman, but I think that they could have done a much better job on it if they tried. Still fairly good though. I think I may make a scarecrow next year.
Ok well, here are two optical illusions that I found to be of my liking:
this first one I think is pretty cool because it looks like it is moving, but alas, it is not. If you focus on it and keep your eyes very still, then it will stop moving. Cool, huh?no motion
The next one is very cool. You have to find the hidden tiger. It seems pretty obvious, with a tiger standing right there in the middle, but this is not the tiger that you are looking for. If you give up, I have the answer posted as a comment.
